Reach and interact with more customers through voice

Are your customers using voice as a channel? Through an initial research and strategy phase we can help identify if a voice skill will help you reach your audience.

When designing a voice skill, we have to ensure that we are providing value to the user, whilst encouraging repeat use and creating a positive brand experience.

Just like using Google Analytics on your website, we monitor the usage and performance of your voice skill post launch, offering insights into how customers are interacting with your brand through voice. If you would like to find out more about integrating voice as a marketing channel for your brand please contact us at voice@fxdigital.uk

How do you design a Voice Skill?

By first understanding the needs of the brand and how the end user will interact with the online brand interface to give them a seamless and engaging experience.

What does a voice user interface designer actually do?

Voice designers are responsible for designing and creating interfaces for use with devices such as Alexa, Smart TVs and any other device which connects online.

What is a Voice User Interface (VUI)?

VUIs allow users to interact with devices (TVs, Smartphones and other digital devices) by voice, thereby negating the need to use a physical interaction such as a mouse or touch screen.

Why are Voice User Interface (VUI) designers in high demand?

Because since the launch of Alexa in 2014, the demand for VUIs has increased exponentially, and the adoption of smart speakers and other VUIs has accelerated faster than the demand for the iPhone when it was launched in 2007.

What are Alexa skills?

Alexa skills are merely the industry term for apps which can be loaded to a device in order to complete voice interaction with the end user. Apps such as Spotify, Ted Talks and Radio Mystery Theatre are just three of the more widely known skills.

How many skills does Alexa have?

Currently, there are over 50,000 Skills in use worldwide, offering VUI to over 20,000 device types, and in use by more than 3,500 brands as at 1st October 2019. This figure is only ever going to increase as the tech becomes more main stream and is adopted to deliver end user VUIs in exponentially increasing end use scenarios.

Does my business need a voice technology strategy?

Yes! If your brand is reaching out to consumers and interacting with thousands, hundreds of thousands or millions of end users via digital technology, your business needs an integrated voice technology strategy, just as it has needed an SEO strategy. Voice interaction is the future today.

What businesses can benefit from VUI and Alexa skills?

Healthcare brands, TV brands, media production, sports brands, publishing, banking brands, finance, hospitality brands and chains, automotive brands, gaming, publishing…the potential is limitless. If your business has a digital presence and wants to remain competitive and on-trend, a VUI is a must.

What is a speech user interface?

A speech user interface (commonly referred to as a VUI) is an interactive solution which allows an end user to connect to a device by speech or voice commands, doing away with the need for a physical connection such as touch screen or mouse device.

What is a speech interface used for?

VUIs (Voice User Interface) use and mimic human speech; enabled devices can be accessed without the need for a physical device (mouse, touch screen etc) or can be used in parallel with a physical device.
